Ubuntu Netbook Remix [Video]

6 07 2008

At Computex, earlier this year, Canonical Ltd. announced a “remix”, as they call it, of Ubuntu. This OS is meant for the ultraportable market, such as the Asus Eee PC or the MSIĀ  Wind. In essence, it is a slimmed down version of Ubuntu with a simple, easy to navigate window picker and an application launcher optimized for ultraportables. Also, it is optimized to take advantage of the Intel Atom processor being built into newer ultraportables. The first consumer products to ship with Netbook Remix installed are planned for late 2008. Check out the two-minute video posted below or head on over to the official Ubuntu Netbook remix page.

UPDATE: There is also a much better quality video from the Canonical site, available here.
